How to Wash and Dry your Screen Printed Clothing

Using Cold Water gets your clothing clean and is gentler on fabric than hot water. Cold water is ideal for screen-printed apparel as hot water can distill the ink on your clothing

Ironing over the print is highly discouraged, Heat is considered an enemy of screen-printed fabric, but you can proceed with caution if you must iron your clothing. Use the lowest heat setting and turn your clothes inside out.

Avoid using the steam setting or ironing on the printed design, and place a piece of clothing between the garment and the iron to protect the screen printing. Direct ironing on the screen printed design will damage the design of your clothing.

Avoid setting your dryer to a high heat level when drying your screen-printed clothing. Instead, remove the garment when it's almost dry and hang it outside on a clothesline to dry naturally. High heat quickens the peeling process of the design, which is why it's not recommended to dry it fully by machine. Avoid using hot dryers on such garments and let them dry in a natural environment for best results.

If you decide to launder the Pearl, Rhinestone, Nailhead, or Sequined garment, hand washing is always the best choice over machine washing.

If you are going to machine wash, use the gentle cycle/ hand washable cycle, and put the garment in a mesh laundry bag before putting it in the machine. Be prepared to check for embellishments that may have fallen off during washing which can damage your washer.

Always allow the embellished garment to air dry. Never place it in a hot dryer, which can damage the finish or melt decorations and loosen the glue.

If the garment is woven, hang to air dry away from direct sunlight and heat. If the garment is knit, then dry flat to prevent stretching.

If the garment requires ironing, then always press on the wrong side of the fabric and use a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric. Use the lowest iron temperature possible.

VOID Using Steamers for Embellished tops with RHINESTONES, PEARLS, and NAILHEADS.

Sequin Tops instead of ironing, consider using a clothes steamer to remove the wrinkles.
